She doesn't care much for the water, unless she is thirsty.  She ran all over the beach at Au Train Bay - tired herself out.  She plays hard.  Doesn't seem to know she is a senior citizen!  We sure can learn from our doggy dog:
  • Never pass up the opportunity to go for a ride (to the U.P.!!!)
  • Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstacy.
  • When loved ones come home, always run to greet them
  • When it is in your best interest, always practice obedience
  • Let others know when they've invaded your territory
  • Take naps and always stretch before rising
  • Run, romp and play daily
  • Eat with gusto and enthusiasm
  • Be loyal
  • Never pretend to be something you're not
  • If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it
  • When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently
  • Delight in the simple joy of a long walk
  • Thrive on attention and let people touch you
  • Avoid biting when a simple growl will do
  • On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree
  • When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body
  • No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.  Run right back and make friends.

oh she's so cute when she sleeps at the house in Houghton. So calm.

And I know that look in the other pic! It's a "I don't know about this you guys" look!

Yup - that was the look. "I don't know about this, but I am thirsty." Yeah, she is so calm in Houghton - quite a change from when we first got the house and she was so panicky!

On Sunday night, we came back from the Ambassador and she didn't greet us at the door. I thought it was wierd - did we leave her out and she ran away? We were stumped! She NEVER runs away! Dad whistled a couple times and she didn't come. He went outside and whistled. Then, we heard a bark from upstairs - the door blew shut and she was trapped in Walt's bedroom! Poor pup! But of all places to be trapped, she seems to love Walt's bedroom the best.

I couldn't believe she would run away! I didn't even know how to start looking for her!!!

Those are great words of advice - and she fits those rules to a Tee!!

Those are great words of advice for all of us. If Dr. Phil ever goes on vacation, I think Marais could fill in just fine.
