We spent Monday night in Spokane and then on Tuesday, decided to forego I-90 in favor of the more scenic US-2. We laughed because it was a foggy morning and we didn't see much for quite a few miles! But as the miles went by, Mr. Sunshine burned thru the fog and we were treated to incredible scenery! We went thru canyons that reminded us of the high desert in northern Arizona. The one picture is from Coulee City - we stopped to see if we could get an espresso, but couldn't find a place to get one to go. As we were driving out of town, we saw this huge dog, just laying in the middle of the road. Jim snapped quite a few pictures of him. Funny.
We followed the Columbia River and saw lots of orchards - Washington apples! Then we crossed the Cascades and before we knew it, we were in Everett! We had a great visit with Candy, Adam, Wyatt, Dane and Jett. Such cute kids (including the parents)!
Right now, we're still at our hotel in Bellingham. Jim and Walt are going thru Walt's paperwork in preparation for the border crossing and application for permission to work in Canada.
Next post will be from Canada! Love to all!
