Every night as I get ready for bed, there is a little black nose peeking thru the crack in the bathroom door. There is no good reason why I close the door when I go in there - it is just Marais and I - habit, I guess but it makes her so curious! It often catches me by surprise to see that black nose peeking thru the door because she used to be oblivious to our bedtime routine and bathroom habits. In fact, we used to not be able to even coax her into the bathroom - I don't think she likes the slippery floor (no carpet) - which makes this new habit of hers strange. If I let her in, she makes a pest of herself. As I floss and brush my teeth, she is sniffing, trying to understand every little aspect of what I'm doing. As I get my vitamins / pills out, she acts like they're treats for her - "I want some!" I think this all began when she started losing her hearing. I think she
has to see. (In LEAN, we'd say "Gemba") So, I just leave the door mostly shut and she peeks in. Every night it is the same. She just doesn't seem to lose her fascination for what goes on in the bathroom. I get such a kick out of her.
