I love old theaters. I don't know what it is about them - maybe it is the ornate marquee and the thought that the inside is as ornate as the marquee. Or maybe it is the thought of the romantic stories that play out inside, both on the screen and off. Or maybe it is the idea of it being a place where people gather for entertainment and, in the days of World War II, news. There is a very neat little thrift store beside the Vista theater and the proceeds from the store are used toward renovations of the theater. Turns out that store had a great selection and the best deal on vintage hats! We had a ball trying them on, as there were so many neat ones and they were all in great shape. She bought one that matches the dress she is wearing for the rehearsal dinner. I got a couple and based on one of them, finally decided what I'm wearing to the wedding. In these days of urban sprawl and malls out on the highway, these old theaters sometimes are the anchor of these small towns, sometimes a barometer of the downtown's health. Whatever it is, I love them, so I took pictures of some of those we saw on the road. (I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the Lode or the Pic!) Now the question for you, the reader is, without googling the answer, can you name the town where each of these theaters are?

Heres my guesses:
1) Butler - Manistique
2) Vista - Ishpiming
3) Chief - Negunee
4) Ironwood - Duh
5) Bay - Escanaba

4. Ironwood - yup!
5. Bay - Escanaba
