Jim is real excited about this!  It looks like lots of fun to me too!  Maybe a good business opportunity for Tom - he already has some of the equipment!  Just a thought.

The day started out beautiful - clear but cool.  A perfect day to bicycle to church.  We bicycled to church, had lunch and then bicycled up to a local orchard (Robinette's) to get a donut, cider, caramel apple.  Unfortunately, when we got to Robinette's, the line was out the door and halfway out to the road.  I asked someone what the line was for, thinking that maybe it was for a ride on a hay wagon, but it was just to get in the door to get a donut, cider, apples, anything.  Sheesh!  They have some good stuff there, but it isn't THAT good!  So we got back on the bike and rode down to Knapp Meijer.  We needed some real groceries (not just cider and donuts), so we got that done too.  On our way home, about 3-4 miles from home, something funny happened to the bike.  Not funny ha-ha, but funny bike-not-working.  Jim says it is a pawl.  We were able to ride the bike downhill and on the flats without too much difficulty, but no uphills.  So, the last 3 miles of our 27-mile day was a combination of walking and coasting.  Hopefully Brent can have us back on the road within the week, but in any case, we'll be on the half-bikes for awhile.  

Thats about it from here.  Tonight's dinner is sweet corn (probably some of the last of the season), stuffed peppers (we use pablano peppers - gives it a good kick) and fresh brussels sprouts.  (I learned something new today:  It isn't "brussel sprouts", but rather "brussels sprouts".  Hmmmm!)  Have a great week everybody!
