Hi all!
Well, we're having trouble getting internet on our computer, so no pictures for now. But we have this free pc here at our hotel. We are in Alesund (That A should have a dot over it and is pronounced like a U, but I can't figure out this keyboard) - very cool town. Burned down in 1904 and they rebuilt it (whole town) - so pretty, right on the ocean. Our room here is very cool!!!
Lots of driving yesterday! But we made it to Opphaug and found the Henriksen farm - I couldn't believe it. We stopped at the Shell station and asked where the village offices were. He said right here. We told him we were looking for the Henriksen farm - he pointed across the street, across a field and said, right there. We went over there and knocked on doors, but couldn't find anyone home. Drove around a lot and took a lot of pics. Also went to a church in Brekstad and found Grandma's brother's grave and his wife's grave. At lunchtime we spoke with some local people and they confirmed that the Henriksen farm was where the Shell station guy said. Pretty cool, although the original house burned down last year - it appears that the new house is on the old foundation and not yet done.
Today we're going to Geirangerfjord on a ferry. This is supposed to be the most beautiful fjiord in Norway. We have been on a lot of ferries - 4 ferry rides yesterday. They are very nice. It is very mountainous and rugged countryside. Very beautiful! It seems like every bend in the road presents another gorgeous view - incredibly picturesque!
That is about it for now. Love to all!
